About Leaf and Folk
After graduating from a Bachelor of Fine Arts at RMIT University in 2017, Jade started a new venture called Leaf and Folk. Turning handpicked botanicals into wearable art and objects.
As a multidisciplinary artist, the natural landscape has always been a focus within her work. Translating natural and reoccurring forms, line and colour into abstract sculptures, printmaking and gold and silver smithing. In 2015 Jade began experimenting with resin and pigments, creating small objects and paintings. This eventuated into the infusion of handpicked botanicals, which turned into about 6 different pieces of jewellery. Not thinking much of them until they all sold at a small exhibition mid 2017.
This sparked the humble beginning of Leaf and Folk.
Flowers have always been a way to connect to both of Jade's grandmothers. Through Leaf and Folk she is able to connect these precious memories, into sentimental objects and wearable art. Through a slow and loving process, Jade handpicks every flower, which is then dried, infused into resin, sanded then polished. Creating unique pieces encapsulating cherished moments.
Thankyou to all of the beautiful souls who have supported my work, I am so humbled by your response. I am so excited to see where this journey takes me.
